“Enormous time savings”
“Around 450 professionals are being seconded from our business unit into the petrochemical industry in the Netherlands and abroad. That varies from fire patrols and secondary safety experts (SSEs) to expert line managers in projects (ELPs). The management of our materials used to take us a tremendous amount of time. Each part had its own Excel sheet and had to be managed manually. What’s more, it wasn’t always clear what equipment was where. There was no automatic signalling system for testing materials, either.
When we were familiarising ourselves with Gereedschapbeheer, we were enthusiastic about the demo version and the corresponding information straight away.
The transition from the old system to the new tool went virtually unnoticed and linked in well with our old system. After making a few adjustments to the old Excel sheets, all the data was easily imported into the new tool.
We have been working with Gereedschapbeheer since the beginning of 2012 and its ‘convenience’ is the greatest advantage for us. The system works perfectly and we rarely have any questions. If things are unclear, they are resolved quickly and efficiently. All of our materials have been incorporated directly into tool — from gas measurement equipment to explosion-proof means of communication. At the time, we opted for a relatively extensive version, and we are now using more and more of the facilities, such as the use of barcodes, the generation of test reports, access badges etc. To summarise, we are very happy with our watertight, up-to-date overview of the materials at all branches.
